Dr. Michelle (formerly O'Connor) McCoy, DC, DICCP who grew up locally in Mahopac, is the only chiropractor in Westchester County Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pregnancy and one of approximately 200 in the world. She is also Webster Technique Certified, a specific chiropractic analysis and adjustment helpful during pregnancy. She enjoys lecturing to birth professionals and pregnant women about the conditions associated with pregnancy.
Before opening McCoy Chiropractic in 2002, she spent three years as an associate and covering chiropractor. She is a graduate of New York Chiropractic College. She was a Varsity swimmer at Stony Brook University specializing in long distance freestyle. She lives in Cold Spring with her chiropractor and business partner husband Gregg and their two children, Matthew and Kirra.
Pre/Postnatal & Pediatric Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic education includes one class on Pediatrics and Pregnancy. Most chiropractors who focus on pregnancy and pediatrics complete post graduate programs to supplement their education. The Diplomate in Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics (that includes pregnancy) is a rigorous 300+ hour, three year program. This combined with over 20 years of clincal experience, makes Dr. Michelle McCoy more than qualified to evaluate and treat pregnant and pediatric patients.
